if this company wants to solve its finanical problems its not by freezing pensions.hotel prices and cab fares cost more than an airline ticket.Example cab Manhatten to JFK $58.00 / airfare on UNITED JFK/LONDON $128.00 :source USA today.How do we compete with companies in Bankrupcy protection for the last2 1/2 years with no plan to emerge because no plan will get them out of the hole they have dug and bankrupcy judges give them extension after extension/yet we have to compete against them.Congress needs to cap oil prices where the surviving carriers can make a profit and charge the passengers the difference.If United and US air go under the capacity will go down and the playing field will be alot more level and then maybe airlines can charge a reasonable price for a ticket instead of selling them for less than the price of 3 bags of groceries at the local supermarket.No amount of concessions is going to solve this airlines problems/This is an industry wide problem an neeeds to be addressed as such!Management needs to redirect its focus /its not the employees wages or pensions/US air has already given up there pension and there still day to day with Southwest licking there lips waiting for them to go away.NWA employees just say no and stand up for yourself because your Northwest Airlines not NWA mangement they are just AL and Gary"s hired guns.

Wow, whoever posted the blog regarding this being a Industry wide problem, and not a company problem, is absolutely right. What really bothers me is that why is it that the workers can see this and management cannot. Perhaps it is because management is always new, coming in like saviors and leave like losers. Sad but true. Thanks for writing an enlightening post. We need more such comments, always in front of us. Also, whoever is responsible for this site thanks.
